What is the difference between a digital signature and an electronic signature?

An electronic signature and digital signature are both legally binding methods of signing documents, and increasingly popular through MSB Docs. The former is defined as “information in electronic form (a sign, symbol, or process) associated with other digital information”. With the latter, users possess a unique digital certificate authorised by certification authorities. On MSB Docs, users can apply their eSignatures to contracts by typing their name, drawing a handwritten signature, or uploading an image.
